Medett was founded in 1968 in Sweden by Mr. Christer von Matérn. Medett starts production of sets, laminated products, drawsheets, bibs and copolymer gloves in 1976.

In 1991 decision is taken to move production to the recently formed subsidiary Medisp Produtos Hospitalares S.A. in Penafiel, Portugal. Production starts in Portugal November 1992.

Since 1998 all production is moved to Portugal and only a sales office remains in Sweden. Medisp has today 50 employees.
